Meaning:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the alphabets I am \u201cA\u201d and among grammatical compounds I am Dvandva. I only am the inexhaustible time. I am the provider facing all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The word \u201cakshara\u201d means letter, but also means imperishable. Shri Krishna says that among the aksharas, the imperishable letters, Ishvara is manifested foremost in the letter \u201ca\u201d. In Sanskrit, all letters are formed by combining a half-letter with \u201ca.\u201d For example, \u0915\u094d + \u0905 = \u0915 (k + a = ka). Hence, the letter \u201ca\u201d is the most important in the Sanskrit alphabet. \u201cA\u201d is also the first vowel of the alphabet, and since the vowels are written before the consonants, \u201cA\u201d comes at the very beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, because \u0905 is the most fundamental letter or the most fundamental sound; and why do we say that it is the most fundamental sound, because when you open your mouth and allow the wind to pass out, what will be the sound; what will come? Ah; when you open the mouth and allow the sound to come; letter anyone Chinese, Russian, Japanese, let them open the mouth clearly and allow the sound to come, it will be ah alone; and that is why when we want the children to open the mouth, what we say, you say show ah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Sanskrit is such an ancient language, it is highly refined and sophisticated. A common procedure in Sanskrit language is to combine words to form compound words. When, in the process of making one compound word, two or more words give up their case endings, it is called sam\u0101sa, and the resulting word is called sam\u0101sa pada, or compound word. There are primarily six kinds of sam\u0101sa: 1) dwandva, 2) bahub\u1e5bihi, 3) karm dh\u0101ray, 4) tatpuru\u1e63h, 5) dwigu, 6) avyay\u012b bh\u0101v. Amongst these, dwandva is the best because both words remain prominent in it, while in the others, either one word becomes more prominent, or both words combine together to give the meaning of a third word. The dual word Radha-Krishna is an example of dwandva. Shree Krishna highlights it as his vibh\u016bti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, time was mentioned as the ultimate counter. Here, time is taken up in its infinite nature. It is that infinite time, \u201ckaala\u201d, which is prevalent before, during and after the creation of the universe. I am the k\u0101la tatvam which puts an end to everything; but which itself does not have an end. So therefore, \u0101k\u1e63aya\u1e25 k\u0101la\u1e25 means inexhaustible time. So, everything else gets exhausted in time, but the time continues throughout. In fact, even during pralaya k\u0101lam; everything is resolved, but k\u0101la is there, working potentially. And because of the continuity of k\u0101la alone, the next cycle of sr\u0325\u1e63ti is possible. Do therefore Krishna say I am the k\u0101la tatvam which is inexhaustible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And dh\u0101t\u0101 aha\u1e43; dh\u0101t\u0101 means the one who gives appropriate result for appropriate action; to the appropriate person, at the appropriate time; so I have got a cosmic computer; which cannot have (what virus, red hover) which will never be struck by any virus; a computer which has got in records, all the karmas of all the j\u012bv\u0101s, done during all the time; the karma of ant, plant, animals, birds, living beings, d\u0113v\u0101s, asur\u0101s, everything I have got, and at the right time, I give the karma phalam;  And therefore only vi\u015bvat\u014dmukha\u1e25; my face is turned in all the 10 directions; because I have to see who is doing what karma; who is doing the mischief; so I observe all the karmas of all the people, register them and give the result at the appropriate time; therefore vishvato mukha; the face turned in all directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, whenever we read literature in both prose and poetry form, or when we contemplate the results of our actions, we should always realize that it is Ishvara working through all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
