Further praising Ishvara, Arjuna added that several eminent individuals, over the course of history, have also praised Ishvara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great saints are the authorities for spiritual knowledge and Rishi means a gyaani one who has great knowledge of his subject.  Thus, Arjun quotes the saints, such as Narad, Asit, Deval, and Vyas<\/strong>, who have proclaimed Shree Krishna as the Supreme Divine Personality and the cause of all causes. In the Bheeshma Parva of the Mahabharat, there is a poem in which many sages eulogize Shree Krishna. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sage Narad says: \u201cShree Krishna is the creator of all the worlds and the knower of all feelings. He is the Lord of the celestial gods, who administer the universe.\u201d (Verse 68.2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sage Markandeya states: \u201cLord Krishna is the goal of all religious sacrifices and the essence of austerities. He is the present, past, and future of everything.\u201d (Verse 68.3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sage Bhrigu says: \u201cHe is the God of gods and the first original form of Lord Vishnu.\u201d (Verse 68.4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sage Ved Vyas states: \u201cO Lord Krishna, You are the Lord of the Vasus. You have conferred power on Indra and the other celestial gods.\u201d (Verse 68.5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sage Angira says: \u201cLord Krishna is the creator of all beings. All the three worlds exist in his stomach. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead.\u201d (Verse 68.6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere in the Mahabharat, Sage Asit and Deval declare: \u201cShree Krishna is the creator of Brahma, who is the creator of the three worlds.” (Mahabharat Vana Parva 12.50)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arjuna listed the names of the renowned sages Naarada, Asita, Devala and Vyaasa in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Srimad Bhagavatam speaks of Naarada as the son of a maid- servant who served several priests. He grew up in an environment of spirituality and decided to seek the absolute truth in a forest after his mother passed away. His meditation bore fruit when he had a vision of Ishvara. After his death, he was reborn as the sage Naarada that many of us are familiar with. Naarada was learned in all the arts and sciences. He could travel anywhere in the universe and talk to any deity that he wished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another sage mentioned here is Devalaha who was the son of a great sage named Asita, who was born as a result of Asita\u2019s prayer to Lord Shiva. It is said that Devalaha was cursed by a celestial maiden named Rambha for not agreeing to marry her. He was reborn as Sage Ashtavakra, who is famous for writing the Ashtavakra Gita. And of course, Sage Krishna Dvaipayana Vyaasa is the author of the great Indian epic Mahabhaarata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quoting these great authorities, Arjun says that now Shree Krishna is himself reconfirming their statements by declaring that he is the supreme cause of all creation.
