Knowing both these paths, any yogi is not deluded, O Paartha. Therefore, remain engaged in yoga at all times, O Arjuna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Krishna starts to conclude the topic of the jeeva\u2019s journey after death. He says that those who have knowledge of the fate of the jeeva after death is not deluded or misinformed. With this knowledge, we can change his behavior on earth in order to qualify for the right path after our death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the two paths mentioned in this chapter, there was one that led to liberation. Shri Krishna advises us to follow the path of selfless action combined with single pointed devotion, in other words, karma yoga and bhakti yoga. This is indicated by the phrase \u201cremain engaged in yoga\u201d in this shloka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those relentless souls who strive for Yog or union with God are true yogis. Yogi means a viveki, an intelligent seeker will not get confused with regard to karma marga and upasana marga; whether I should become a mere ritualist whether I should add up\u0101sana also; So, whether I should become a karmi or whether I should become a up\u0101saka\u1e25, such a doubt should not come to an intelligent seeker. They recognize themselves to be tiny fragments of God and His eternal beatitude. They also realize the temporary nature of the material world and the futility of a materialistic life. Therefore, instead of running behind sensual pleasures, they endeavour to enhance their love for God. Such souls are on the path of light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, are the ignorant souls, who are under the influence of maya, the material energy. They recognize themselves as only the body and the material world around them as the source of their pleasure. They continue to live through the miseries of material existence, being disdainful toward God or His eternal opulence. Thus, such souls are on the path of darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A devotee of the Supreme Lord should not worry whether he will depart by arrangement or by accident. The devotee should be firmly established in Krishna consciousness and chant Hare Krishna. He should know that concern over either of these two paths is troublesome. The best way to be absorbed in Krishna consciousness is to be always dovetailed in His service, and this will make one’s path to the spiritual kingdom safe, certain and direct. The word yoga- yukta is especially significant in this verse. One who is firm in yoga is constantly engaged in Krishna consciousness in all his activities. Sri Rupa Gosvami advises, anasaktasya vishayan yatharham upayunjatah: one should be unattached in material affairs and do everything in Krishna consciousness. By this system, which is called yukta- vairagya, one attains perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shree Krishna adds the phrase, \u201cat all times.\u201d It is for us to recognize the importance of being a yogi at all times. And avoid the danger of sliding back into the path of darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the devotee is not disturbed by these descriptions, because he knows that his passage to the supreme abode is guaranteed by devotional service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of this knowledge has already been explained to us. Karma yoga was the theme of the first six chapters, and bhakti yoga is the theme of chapters six through twelve. We have a choice. We can either read those chapters with an intellectual bent, or we can actually put the teachings to practice in our lives by remaining engaged in yoga \u201cat all times\u201d. The choice is up to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
