That supreme person, in whom all beings are included, by whom all this is pervaded, O Paartha, is obtained through single-pointed devotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explanation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this shloka, Shri Krishna summarizes the topic of complete liberation. The detail around the creation and dissolution of the universe was meant to highlight the notion that only through liberation can we rise above that endless cycle. Shri Krishna gives us the means for liberation as well as the attributes of the goal which is Ishvara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Krishna says that liberation is obtained through single- pointed devotion to Ishvara. Single- pointed devotion was covered in chapter six. However, here it is meant to include not just devotion but also karma yoga. If the karma yoga aspect is missing, our vaasanaas or latent desires will remain unfulfilled, pulling us back into the cycle of rebirth so that they will be fulfilled.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, Shri Krishna says; God is present everywhere. The same Supreme Lord who resides in the spiritual sky in His divine abode, at the same time, is seated in the hearts of every living creature. He is all- pervading and present in every atom of the material world. It is not that He is a hundred percent God in His personal form and ten percent when He is in our hearts or anywhere else in the material world. God exists a hundred percent in all His forms. Due to our ignorance, we are unable to recognize His presence within us or all around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, what is Ishvara\u2019s connection to creation and dissolution? Ultimately, Ishvara is the cause of all creation. But he is not someone who stands outside his creation. The classic example referenced in this context is that of the potter and the pot. The potter creates the pot out of clay, but remains outside the pot, distinct from the pot. Ishvara is not like that. He is like the ocean that creates waves. The waves are pervaded by the ocean and are also included in the ocean. So is the case with Ishvara. Therefore, Ishvara is everywhere (beyond space) and ever present (beyond time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, both sagu\u1e47a and nirgu\u1e47a aspects are told, here in Him alone all the beings rests and by this consciousness the whole creation is pervaded; because if you talk about the existence of anything; consciousness must be present there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Krishna himself feels that many people feel that this is too high a subject matter, which goes many feet beyond the head.  So, Krishna says ananyay\u0101 bhakty\u0101 labhya\u1e25. You can to nirgu\u1e47am brahma; by your Ni\u1e63k\u0101ma bhakthi; once you understand that alone is the ultimate goal, because anything else falls within what time and space and therefore mortality; once you have understood tyranny of time, and once you have sincerely voted for the timeless Brahman, you are called a Ni\u1e63k\u0101ma bhaktha; or a mumuk\u1e63u; And with this sincere desire, you continue your sagu\u1e47a bhakthi; sooner or later, you will get the qualifications required for that nirgu\u1e47a bhakthi; therefore he says ananyaya bhaktya; Ni\u1e63k\u0101ma bhakthya; sa\u1e25 puru\u1e63a\u1e25 labhya\u1e25; that Brahman is attainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu very nicely said: \u201cAlthough karma, jnana, and ashtanga yoga are also pathways to God- realization, all these require the support of bhakti for their fulfillment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne may practice ashtanga yoga, engage in austerities, accumulate knowledge, and develop detachment. Yet, without devotion, one will never attain God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
